As our people face growing fascism, rising seas, displacement, the ongoing harms of racial capitalism, and the impacts of climate change, the work and vision of Temple of Two Waters is urgent for this time, and the need to return lands to individuals who can steward and care for the land is especially important. Now is the time to invest in freedom spaces for queer and trans BIPOC. Now is the time to support spaces for imagination, creativity, and dreaming. Now is the time for us to heal. THE OPPORTUNITY: Temple of Two Waters has an exciting opportunity to secure adjacent parcels of land which would expand our stewardship to 102 acres and allow us to show up for our people in deeper and more significant ways, while protecting endangered rural lands and delicate ecosystems from data centers and nefarious corporations.
The total asking price for the adjacent lots is $240,000. We have $100,000 committed from a donor toward this land acquisition, which would leave roughly $140,000 to secure.
In addition to all of the amazing QTBIPOC brilliance, deep healing and spiritual justice work, and mission to create sanctuary spaces that are the hallmarks of T2W’s work, this would be an opportunity to protect at risk lands in a rural region that does not receive the same level of resources as other parts of the state, and an opportunity to support an initiative led by a committed group of individuals prioritizing ecological stewardship and protection of natural resources and habitats while contributing to a new regenerative economy aligned with values of collectivism, prioritization of resource denied communities, and traditional land stewardship methods.
